Objectives & Functions
The State Biodiversity Board is functioning to achieve the objectives of the Biological Diversity Act 2002, which were derived from the International Convention on Biological Diversity held in 1992 in Rio-de-Janeiro, Brazil. /p>
The objectives are as under:
- Conservation of Biological Diversity.
- Sustainable utilization of Biological resources.
- Fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilization of genetic resources.
